Robert Arellano

Robert Arellano was born and raised in San Antonio, TX and began his college career at Texas State University. After graduating Magna Cum Laude at Texas State, Robert found a job teaching Spanish and coaching at Southwest High School in San Antonio.

In 2007, Robert was accepted to St. Mary’s University Law School and obtained a law degree in 2010. While at St. Mary’s Robert obtained a pro bono certificate for his work with the St. Mary’s Civil Justice Clinic. Robert also competed in numerous moot court competitions and was a brief writer for the Jessup Moot Court team.

After graduating law school, Robert briefly worked for the Law Office of Nicholas and Barrera before taking a job as a bankruptcy attorney in Dallas. In 2012, Robert made the decision to switch to criminal law as a prosecutor for the Travis County Attorney’s Office in Austin, Texas. While at the TCAO Robert gained jury trial experience with Misdemeanor DWIs and Family Violence cases.

In 2018, Robert joined the Travis County District Attorney’s Office where he gained felony trial experience as an Assistant District Attorney. During his time prosecuting in Travis County Robert gained legal experience with every level of misdemeanor and felony charges including juvenile law. Robert is licensed federally in the Western, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Texas.

In the Spring of 2022, Robert moved his family back to San Antonio accepting a job offer to practice Criminal Law at BRCK Criminal Defense Attorneys. “I wanted to work for BRCK because they are reimagining what a criminal law firm is going into the future. The jump from prosecution to defense was a big one but knowing that my family would be there for me made this decision easy.”

In his free time, Robert enjoys reading about the history of Texas, Mexico, and the Southwest. He also enjoys going to the movies and watching the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys on the weekends.
